Why choose Nationwide?

Dedicated case owners and our flexible approach

Our dedicated and experienced case owner support team handles all self‑employed applications, ensuring a smooth application journey while expertly managing more complex cases. We take a flexible and pragmatic approach and consider good quality mortgage cases that may not fit our standard criteria.

In certain scenarios, we may be able to consider using one year’s income - for example, where an applicant has taken over an established business, where there has been a change to the legal structure but the underlying business remains consistent, or where an applicant has recently joined an established professional firm, such as a solicitor’s practice or dental practice.

Please speak to your Business Development Manager about any cases that may fit these circumstances.

Clear and upfront guidance

We provide clear guidance on proof requirements and criteria for a range of self-employed income profiles, including sole traders, partnerships, limited companies and contractors.
