We'll accept zero hours contract as income if it's secondary income – please check our lending criteria for full details.

Income from the above is only acceptable where it's not the primary income i.e. there must be another employed/self-employed/pension income, which is higher. It doesn't have to be a second job.

What to do if your client wants to apply for a mortgage but receives income in a foreign currency

This is only available to existing Nationwide borrowers where they're looking to port their existing mortgage or reduce their borrowing.

Please note: Your client has to be a UK resident to apply for a mortgage. 

What to do if your client's employer isn't UK based

When completing the full application, please enter the employers UK address.

How to key car/shift allowance

If this can be seen and is the same amount on each payslip, please add this to their basic income and enter as ‘basic’ pay.

The maximum retirement age I can key

The maximum retirement age you can key is 70. Please see Lending into retirement for more information.
